🌟Here’s What Amy Shared with Us

1️⃣What inspired you to start Zen Tea Lounge Foundation?

✨Having experienced violence and long periods of feeling unsafe, I created Zen Tea Lounge Foundation as a safe, nurturing space where people can slow down, connect, and rediscover hope. Through food, tea, and compassionate support, I help people take steady steps toward healing and growth.

2️⃣How does Zen Tea Lounge Foundation support wellbeing and connection?
🍀At Zen, safety comes first. We create a calm, welcoming space where people can feel seen, respected, and in control of their own story. Connection grows through simple, human moments—sharing time, listening without judgment, and reconnecting with themselves and others at their own pace.

3️⃣What impact has surprised you the most so far?
🪶What has surprised me most is how powerful listening first can be. Zen’s programs are shaped by the community’s needs, and when people feel truly heard, they respond with honesty, creativity, and courage—guiding our work in ways we could never have planned.

4️⃣What’s the biggest lesson on your journey as a founder?
⚡Humility. Every day at Zen, I see people overcome hardship, rebuild their lives, and support others. I’ve learned that leadership isn’t about having all the answers—it’s about walking alongside people with patience, respect, and compassion, and learning from their resilience every day.

5️⃣What’s next for Zen Tea Lounge Foundation?
✨We will continue addressing gaps for people affected by domestic and family violence. My hope is that Zen remains a safe space where women, carers, and minority communities are seen, respected, and valued. Together with communities and partners, we aim to *strengthen responses, build peer leadership, and create safer, more compassionate systems.
